Mess pricing is determined through the university’s established administrative processes, so any revision must be discussed with the competent authorities. My priority would be to advocate for reasonable pricing while ensuring that students receive hygienic, nutritious food in adequate quantities. Food quality should be monitored through regular inspections of mess kitchens, storage areas and canteens. There have been complaints about inadequate cleanliness in some canteens, including rodent activity. These concerns require proper pest control, sanitation checks and accountability for maintaining hygienic food-preparation environments. I would also advocate for regular checks on food quality, ingredient storage, drinking water and the sources from which food supplies are procured. Students should have an accessible mechanism to report poor-quality food, inadequate portions or hygiene problems, with complaints reviewed by the concerned authorities. These measures should apply across residential halls and campus canteens, ensuring that both male and female students can access safe food at reasonable prices.

better suppliers will be, brought into the scene, and chefs will be changed, also new quality control staff will be deployed, whose only job would be to nit pick and ensure the quality and quantity of the mess.

Food quality should be improved to meet standard nutritional requirements, while keeping dining charges as low as possible. Tenders and monthly expenses should be fully transparent to prevent corruption. hygiene inspections in dining halls.

Mess food quality and pricing is a genuine problem for many hostel students. As a Court member, my role is limited and mainly connected to the faculty. I cannot directly control the mess or take administrative decisions. However, My responsibility will be to ensure that the problems of Life Science students and also other faculties students related to mess food are not ignored and are presented in a proper and consistent manner.
